In the midst of such complex and heartbreaking conflicts in our world, we must take respite. We can’t subject ourselves to an all-day onslaught of news, combine that with our own tendencies to busyness, and expect to be okay.
What heals you? What is it that helps you renew so that you can begin again? Here is a meditation I like to do when I want to relax deeply. It’s one to help you deeply rest, restore, and ground yourself. It’s not a sleep meditation, but you could use it as one if you prefer.
When times are as chaotic as these, it is more important than ever to dive into an outlet that helps you to regroup. Last week I suggested some ways to take care of yourself—checking in with yourself and your loved ones, movement, meditation, journaling, helping others, and being in nature—these are all helpful to a balanced life. Beyond these, what fills you up? Reading? Art? Music? Baking? These can all be healing and uplifting. Whatever you do this weekend, I hope it includes time to fill yourself up.
Have a nice weekend. See you back here soon.
