Hello there,
Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer. I hope it’s nice where you live and that you have an extra day this weekend to enjoy yourself. Summertime tends to be more casual and replete with simple pleasures—bare feet, picnics, driving with the windows down, running through a sprinkler, open windows, watermelon.
So many of us are so busy. See if you can slow down enough to relax and restore.
And don’t forget to meditate! This week's meditation is straightforward. It’s one of the first meditations people learn—a technique where we gather our attention onto our breath.
The instructions are clear. Sit comfortably. Bring your attention to your breath. When you notice a distraction, allow it to fade, and bring your attention back to your breath.
Sounds easy, right? Please give it a go and see how it goes. And if breath meditations aren’t your thing, see if you can keep it as simple as feeling your body sitting.
When we practice present-moment awareness, we build our capacity to stay grounded, focused, and attentive to what matters most. This style of meditation also helps us find a greater sense of ease.
The recording is below.
