Subscriber note: I just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU for being here —for subscribing to Inner Space Studio, for reading, for liking, for sharing, and for all your emails. My hope is that this newsletter gives you some unexpected joy, maybe some new ways to think about things, and the motivation to take good care of yourself. So thanks for being here.
For most subscribers it is mid-summer, bringing heat, humidity, thunderstorms, and hopefully a lot of breezy, warm, sunshiny afternoons too, with time to just be.
Slowing down and noticing beauty is an act of kindness toward yourself.
Being in nature is a simple way to access beauty, and it might be easier for you to enjoy the outdoors in summer, as things tend to slow down a bit. If you can get outside, take it all in. The refreshing feel of a cool breeze on your warm skin. The earthy smell of fresh rain. The ticklish feeling of grass between your toes. The melodic sound of birds singing. The riot of color of a garden in mid-summer bloom. All right outside your door. And if you can’t get outside, calling on memories of being outdoors offers benefits too. Close your eyes and imagine.
This week our meditation takes us out into nature. It imagines a setting where you are outdoors with the sun shining. If you are stuck inside, activate all your senses to bring you the feeling of basking in the warmth of a summer day.
Spending time in nature, literally or in your mind’s eye during this meditation will do you a world of good. Enjoy!
