Hello.
How was your week?
It’s easy to get distracted, caught up, or carried away by our thoughts. By the stories we tell ourselves. By the 24-hour news cycle. Social media. We can start to feel overwhelmed. Worried. Spent. Tired. And if left unchecked, it can become a bad habit.
We want to stay engaged, but there comes a point when it can become too much.
This week’s mediation will facilitate the release of ruminations about the past and fears about an imagined future. This is not meant to push away or deny anything, but rather to help find a means to feel more ease and softness in our minds, and release held stress in our bodies. When our bodies and minds are relaxed we can better work with and through the stresses of daily life. We avoid getting caught up in stories, worries, planning, and panic.
If you find yourself preoccupied with thoughts or strong emotions or are trapped in the swirl of current events, you can always use this simple tool— a meditation to bring awareness to your breath or a felt sensation in your body. I hope you try it, and I hope it brings some relief and restfulness to your day.
Look for another post from me in two weeks. In the meantime, thanks for being here and for working toward bringing more ease and well-being into your life.
