This week, we had the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s important to mark the moment. It’s the time between planting and harvesting. It’s a bright, energetic time of year, but time marches, and summer will be behind us in the blink of an eye.
This year, I noticed so many brands getting in on marketing the summer solstice. My inbox was full of well wishes on the first day of summer—none from friends, all from companies. I received playlists, a list of the hottest books for beach season, and even astrological readings. One chic designer brand simply sent out an email with images of summer landscapes by the French Neo-Impressionist Henri-Edmond Cross, which, correct me if I’m wrong, I took to be a subtle IYKYK announcement that summer was officially here.
This was all a happy reminder that even pop culture can remind us all that we are part of nature. We are, and in fact, we are deeply connected to it.

Last week’s meditation was a call to spend time in nature. I hope you can find time to be outside every weekend, every day, and as much as possible. I don’t mean to be on a walk, outside cutting your grass, or even on a picnic. Rather, go outside with the sole purpose of actively feeling the warm sun on your skin, smelling the flowers, taking in the bright colors, and hearing the birds sing.
We all need more time in nature to let it heal us.
My invitation to you this week is to go outside and be present with the natural world. That’s it. No phone. No agenda. Just live.
Have a great week!
See you back here next time.
